Australia-Canada Economic Leadership Forum

APF Canada and the Australia-Canada Economic Leadership Forum (AusCan Forum) have aligned the timing of their events to allow for participation at both CIAC and the AusCan Forum. The AusCan Forum, a by-invitation event, is taking place from February 16-18 in Sydney, Australia.

Lunar Co-ordination Workshop

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and the Outer Space Institute, a global network of space experts headquartered at the University of B.C., are co-organizing a closed-door two-day workshop on lunar co-ordination, a novel subject in space research and policy that urgently requires input from both Canada and its Indo-Pacific allies and partners.

8th Annual Meeting of the Asia Business Leaders Advisory Council

ABLAC is a high-level group of Asian and Canadian business leaders established by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) in 2016. Convened annually to identify and articulate opportunities for improved Canada-Asia business engagement, the Council acts as a powerful platform for networking and business development to help catalyze stronger commercial and investment opportunities between Canada and Asia. ABLAC also aims to provide strategic information, counsel, and advice to Canadian stakeholders including representatives from the federal and provincial governments to strengthen Canada's strategic engagement with the region.

Strengthening evidence-informed policymaking in Asia over five decades: Perspectives from IDRC’s research for development investments

For over five decades, Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) has supported research to improve people’s lives across the world, including Asia. IDRC’s work in Asia has aimed to increase research that can shape development policies, build local research capacity, foster adaptation to climate change, improve food and livestock systems, boost health systems and readiness, advance women’s economic empowerment and gender equality, and create inclusive technological solutions to development issues.
With a strong focus on co-creating knowledge with Southern researchers and in partnership with Canadian institutions, IDRC's projects are catalyzing sustainable, scalable solutions that empower individuals and strengthen institutions. 
This side event will highlight insights from key research initiatives across Asia and demonstrate how this research has informed policy and action to help build a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient Asia over the decades. Representatives from IDRC, leading research institutions, think tanks and development agencies will share insights on their work, including from IDRC-supported research initiatives and its impact on development policymaking.
This panel will also focus on the critical role of IDRC in supporting research for development priorities and opportunities across Asia.
Investment Opportunities into Canada's Agriculture / Agri-food Sector

Canada offers a unique regulatory landscape with vast agricultural resources, cutting-edge agri-tech solutions, and strong government support, positioning Canada as a prime destination for ASEAN investments in agriculture and agri-food.
This session, part of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada’s Canada-in-Asia Conference 2025, will emphasize key themes such as plant-based protein, innovative technologies, and the regulatory landscape that facilitates investment opportunities. Canada-Singapore Cell Ag Network Session

AgCultivate 2025
February 24-25th | 6:30pm - 8:30pm
AgCultivate 2025 is a two-day seminar that will bring together stakeholders from the Philippines and Canada to address critical challenges facing the agriculture sector. Through discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities, AgCultivate 2025 aims to foster collaboration between Canadian and Philippine academia, industry, and government. Key objectives include identifying gaps in Philippine agriculture, showcasing Canadian innovations, and exploring avenues for joint research, education, and trade in agricultural technologies and products.
This is organized by UP Los Baños, Embassy of Canada in the Philippines, Canada’s Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-food Office, with participation from members of the Philippines-Canada Network for Sustainability.
